Biography

Siméon Artamonov (b.1988, Russia) is a London-based fine artist whose vibrant, contemplative works are held in private and corporate collections worldwide. Working primarily in oil paint, alongside works on paper and digital media, Artamonov creates dynamic compositions that blur the boundaries between abstraction and representation.

Born in Russia and raised in France, Artamonov's multicultural background profoundly influences his visual language. He graduated with a Master's degree in Digital Design from GOBELINS School of Image, Paris, in 2014. His fascination with traditional painting began in childhood, leading him to pursue formal training at institutions including the École des Beaux-Arts de Paris.

Artamonov's practice is characterised by bold colour palettes, geometric forms, and a distinctive rhythm that echoes his upbringing in a musical household. His work draws inspiration from Cubism, employing fragmented perspectives and reconstructed realities to create compositions that feel simultaneously familiar and otherworldly.

His Reminiscence series presents imaginary landscapes populated by stylised trees, celestial forms, and atmospheric colour fields. These works evoke a dreamlike quality, exploring themes of memory, nostalgia, and the ephemeral nature of experience. His abstract compositions feature undulating shapes, intricate patterns, and luminous orbs that invite prolonged contemplation.

Artamonov's background in digital design is evident in his ability to distill complex emotions into coherent visual narratives. Previous bodies of work have explored the fleeting nature of happy moments (A Missing Souvenir, 2017) and the concept of place as an idea rather than a specific location (Geography, 2015).

His canvases have been exhibited throughout London at venues including Grid Art Fair, Roy's People Art Fair, Espacio Gallery, and Trinity Art Gallery. Artamonov continues to develop his practice from his London studio, creating works that offer viewers an invitation into quiet worlds where colour and energy transcend the canvas.
